And this is the part most people miss—your work will directly align with Amref’s ambitious 2023–2030 Strategy, shaping narratives that drive change at the county level.
Deadline: December 31, 2025
As a County Storyteller, you’ll work on an assignment basis, diving into the heart of communities to:
- Conduct interviews and gather impactful stories that resonate with audiences.
- Capture stunning visuals—think high-quality photos and short videos that bring stories to life.
- Create digital content tailored for social media, ensuring these stories reach far and wide.
- Document events and achievements, celebrating milestones in county health programs.
- Adhere to Amref’s guidelines on consent, safeguarding, and ethical storytelling—because every story deserves respect.
Who are we looking for?
- Educational Background: A degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Development Studies (with strong writing skills), or Public/Community Health (for those who can simplify complex health topics).
- Experience: 2–3 years in storytelling, journalism, communications, digital content creation, community documentation, or development research.
What gives you an edge?
- Experience documenting health programs—this is where your expertise shines.
- Photo/video editing skills—because visuals speak louder than words.
What will you deliver?
- Compelling human-interest stories (600–1,000 words) that tug at heartstrings.
- High-quality photos (both edited and raw) that tell a thousand words.
- Short videos (30 seconds–2 minutes) perfect for social media engagement.
- Social media scripts and quotes ready to inspire and inform.
- Detailed field notes, captions, and metadata to ensure every story is complete.
