Ready for a travel reality check? The holiday season is upon us, and with it, the inevitable airport hustle. But before you pack your bags, let's unpack a rather unexpected request from Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy: dress up for your flight.
Duffy, a man of many hats – from reality TV star to Congressman and even a champion lumberjack – believes in bringing 'civility' back to air travel. His specific ask? Please, no pajamas.
Now, I'm all for respecting rules, but here's where it gets controversial: many of us frequent flyers have a different wish list. We'd prefer the Department of Transportation to reinstate the rule requiring airlines to compensate us for major delays. After all, if we're stranded for 12 hours due to a canceled flight, and the airline isn't even offering a hotel or a meal, wouldn't you want to be comfy in your PJs?
The core issue? Americans want flights that are on time and safe. Maybe even a free checked bag would be nice!

And this is the part most people miss: I'm not convinced that dressing better equates to behaving better.
I'll make a deal with you, Secretary Duffy: If you can get the person in the restroom before me to put the seat down and the kid behind me to stop kicking my seat, I'll wear my wedding gown on my next flight. And I'll even bring a boutonniere for your tux!
