Bold claim: One UI 8.5 beta opens to a wider pool of Galaxy users, not just the folding lineup, and that shift could change how quickly features land on your device. But here’s how it actually unfolds and what to expect next.
One UI updates traditionally come with an Android version upgrade and typically launch a beta test before the official release. In past years, Samsung reserved some beta programs for its foldables, especially when the Android version stayed the same. This year, Samsung is changing tack with One UI 8.5 by running a standard beta program that is not limited to Galaxy Z devices. The beta will roll out across six markets: the United States, the United Kingdom, Korea, Germany, Poland, and India. Curious about which devices can participate? Here’s the current snapshot.
Eligible devices for the One UI 8.5 beta
The beta program currently supports the following models:
- Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra
At launch, the list is intentionally narrow, including only the Galaxy S25 series and the three original models. The Fan Edition (FE) variant and the Galaxy S25 Edge are not included in this initial beta.
Samsung is widely expected to broaden eligibility to additional devices as the testing period progresses. If that happens, this page will be updated, so bookmark it and check back for the latest information.
