'Togetherness is sometimes more important than spending a lot of money'published at 13:17 GMT

Brighton v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

Finally, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was asked about the January transfer window and how he views the business other teams such as Crystal Palace have done compared to his own side:

"I’m not jealous. I’m really happy with the squad we have here. I’m focusing on my squad.

"We know we still have a lot of work to do but we also know there is a lot of potential in the squad and I have a lot of belief - that’s the main thing - the belief I have in this group to achieve the things we want to achieve is unbelievably high because I see them working together, how they support each other, hold each other accountable, therefore I think this togetherness is sometimes more important than spending a lot of money."

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler on team news: "Diego Gomez will be back, he will be an option. Mats Weiffer is close.

"Yasin Ayari is unfortunately out for the game. He had a small shoulder issue [picked up against Everton], it's nothing big but for this game he will be out."

'James Milner is a role model'published at 13:06 GMT

Brighton v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

Brighton & Hove Albion (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/brighton-and-hove-albion)

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler started his news conference by being asked about James Milner, who can equal the all-time Premier League appearance record - 653 - if he plays against Crystal Palace:

"He will definitely be in the squad. For me, for us, James Milner is a role model, he’s a great character to work with. I think being a Premier League player in this age and still playing on the level he plays and also training on the level he trains. So when you just followed the last two training sessions, it’s incredible what he’s doing so I’m very pleased to work with him.

"I think that will be a special thing for him but he is focused on top of that on the ambitions from the club as well. He wants to be always successful like he was his whole life."

Good mood around Liverpool againpublished at 10:10 GMT

Liverpool v Man City (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

Aadam Patel
BBC Sport Liverpool reporter

Last week, Arne Slot stressed that his Liverpool side could still do special things if they improved in both boxes. Since then, they have scored ten goals and conceded once against Qarabag and Newcastle and the feeling around the football club has certainly improved, with Slot adamant that the football has been "really good".

The confirmation that centre-back Jeremy Jacquet will arrive in the summer from Rennes has added to the good mood but in the here and now, Liverpool have a defensive crisis with Slot confirming that Jeremie Frimpong won’t be back for the game against Manchester City on Sunday. Joe Gomez also remains a doubt so Dominik Szoboszlai may start at right-back again.

And of course, Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to offer a much tougher test than Qarabag or Newcastle did. "What a force City still are and always will be," Slot insisted. It was back at the Etihad Stadium in November when Liverpool were largely "outplayed" by City.

After Slot’s comments this week on The Reds Roundtable, an in-house Liverpool production, where he stressed his desire to play "good football", all eyes will on Anfield on Saturday and whether Slot's side can entertain.

Hopefully Slot is clever enough to adapt his style of "SlotBall" as seems to be the case. Yes fans want a great style of play but trophies are ultimately more important winning titles and trophies regularly attracts and retains the top talent which should also provide "attractive" football.

I can't remember who said it, might have been a Chelsea player under Jose talking about Arsenal back in the day. That no players on their summer holidays sit around saying "remember that trick I did once."

'The only thing as a manager is to keep trusting them and believing in them'published at 09:49 GMT

Liverpool v Man City (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

Liverpool (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool)

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Milos Kerkez improving: "This is what you get if you keep playing those players who maybe sometimes have moments that are not as good as other moments or games not as good as other games. I think that's normal for younger players and the only thing as a manager is to keep trusting them and believing in them because we know who we signed.

"We saw that potential and we knew and, has already been shown, that that potential will be seen if you keep playing them."

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the performances of Curtis Jones this season and keeping hold of him in the transfer window: "He's played a lot of minutes, not all of them, but he's also unlucky in the sense that it's the only line where we haven't had injuries, but he's still played a lot of minutes and that's of course why we kept him.

"We have a lot of players in that line but we need these midfielders in different positions as well and the moment you need that, the line in midfield gets smaller and smaller.

"Of course we kept him and the situation hasn't changed. To us,
