In a relatively short span of six years, the Streamliner collection has taken the luxury sports watch market by storm. Starting with a sophisticated flyback chronograph in 2020, the collection has expanded to include an impressive range of models, from central seconds to perpetual calendars, showcasing the brand's vision and versatility.
But here's where it gets controversial... Moser has traditionally used stainless steel and gold for its Streamliner cases. However, with the new Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramic, they've taken a bold step by introducing a full-ceramic watch for the first time. This move not only marks a significant milestone for the Streamliner line but also for the Schaffhausen-based brand as a whole.
Inspired by the sleek designs of the Streamliner Moderne period, the cushion-shaped Streamliner features aerodynamic lines and an integrated bracelet with a unique, wave-shaped design. The new ceramic model is crafted from a dark grey high-tech ceramic, known for its lightweight, hypoallergenic, and durable properties. The 40mm case and bracelet are hand-decorated with brushed finishes and subtly polished bevels, creating a sleek and comfortable profile.
Moser has stayed true to its roots with the dial design. After exploring various dial materials and colors in previous Streamliner models, they've returned to their classic style with a red textured fumé Grand Feu enamel dial. The dial's texture, similar to the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Turquoise, is enhanced by a hammered pattern engraved on the white gold base, resulting in an intense, eye-catching lava-red finish.
And this is the part most people miss... Moser's Concept watches are known for their minimalist approach. The new Streamliner Ceramic continues this tradition, featuring only the essential elements - hour and minute hands with Globolight inserts. By eliminating unnecessary distractions, the focus is drawn to the large aperture at 6 o'clock, showcasing the flying tourbillon.
Powering this timepiece is the HMC 805 calibre, an in-house movement with a double hairspring designed and produced by Moser's sister company, Precision Engineering AG. This innovative design improves accuracy and isochronism while reducing friction. The openworked 18k red gold bidirectional rotor provides a robust 3-day power reserve.
